I've been loving my classes with Paula. My Spanish has really improved thanks to learning grammar in a systematic way, but also through chatting together and catching up every time we meet for a lesson. I would definitely recommend classes with La Paz!.
My daughter recently completed the 5-day intensive Spanish program with La Paz Spanish School in Xela, and the experience exceeded all of our expectations. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to live for 5 months in Xela, Guatemala back in 2011. It is a beautiful city to visit, offering bustling markets, exciting nightlife, volcano hikes, hot springs and only a day trip away from the incredible Lago Attilan. For the first month, I studied at Escuela La Paz to learn basic Spanish while being accommodated with a friendly local family. From this immersive learning experience I developed the confidence to speak conversational Spanish for the following months living in Xela. The family who run the school are really welcoming and make you feel at home. I felt the lessons were well paced and suited to my learning needs. Anna was a great teacher, she broke the grammar down so it was easier to understand and made the lessons fun and interactive. They also provided lots of cultural learning opportunities such as cooking and enjoying meals together and offering day trips to the local markets. I would definitely recommend learning Spanish in this way to enhance your experience of exploring Guatemala and Xela. Recently, I decided to refresh my Spanish and re-connected with Esquela Le Paz. I was pleased to hear they also offer online lessons, so I can now do an evening Spanish class while living in the UK.
